'Touching the energy of bone'
Zero Balancing (ZB) is a gentle and effective method of freeing the body from tension and stress. It is ideal to release tightness in shoulders, neck and back. Using specific, gentle finger pressure and held stretches allows the body to relax deeply and any built up congestion is released. Although using specific pressure, the point chosen is not a particular pressure point as say in say Acupressure. The working focus in ZB is the relationship between the structure of the bones and joints and the energy flowing through them. Some clients describe it as a 'reflexology of the whole body'.

ZB also provides a point of stillness around which energy and structure can reorganise. With this often comes a change of awareness that allows the body and mind to let go of old habits and patterns. This is later felt as changes in physical movements/posture and/or a change in one's thinking.
The principles of ZB were developed in the 70s by Dr. Fritz Smith, an osteopath, physician and acupuncturist who combined his Western and Eastern trainings. The name originated from an early client's description of a session.
WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION?
The Client is clothed and remains lying on his/her back throughout. On the first visit a short health history is taken. A session may last between 25 or 45 minutes and the whole body is worked. Three to four sessions are recommended and then depending what is being addressed we decide on what frequency would be. Some people have it regularly to maintain health and harmony whereas others when they feel stress and tension is building up or they just need a boost.
